looks like poop
I'm a sucker for anything with chocolate and caramel. I saw this recipe for Pretzel Turtles and they were so quick, easy and SO good! I sent a picture to my old roommate, Nick and he said it looked like poop. It kind of does... please excuse the horrible picture.
save the trees!
I've been going back and forth on whether or not to buy a little tree this year. It's already December 13th, and didn't really feel ambitious enough to go around and buy a tree, get all the stuff and decorate it with our non-existent ornaments. So, as I was walking Bailey this morning, I saw some really good branches sitting on the ground and decided to bring it back to use to hang ornaments on. I saw this on some blogs and it looked super cute. I got some cheap ornaments from target and hung a few on the branches this afternoon. It looks cuter in real life (I hope!). Either way, this is a great alternative to cutting down a tree. (hahaha, I just had to say that because all those blogs were like "save a tree, use alternatives to real trees!")
p.s. I'm sorry for the bad quality of the picture. I couldn't find my camera cord and had to use my blackberry.

cardigans
i wear a cardigan almost every single day. J'ADORE cardigans!!!
i am loving my 2nd fall spent in Virginia and the cool weather that accompanies it. Even though i'm a wimp when it comes to cold, i think the PERFECT solution would be some new sweaters.... which calls for a trip to my favorite... Anthropologie. Here are some that caught my eye...

city love
OMG. These are absolutely adorable! I found these on etsy tonight, and she has the cutest prints! Luckily, she is from the Virginia area, so she had one for Richmond. I also want to get the DC and LA one. I love getting little things to remind me of the different cities I've lived in. (even though i haven't lived in DC, but it is so close to me!)

Change In Plans
Well, the inspection was not so good on our little 1915 home, so we decided to terminate our contract. We decided to sign a lease on an apartment instead. It's a really cool loft type apartment in an old Sears Building! We are most excited about reducing our carbon footprint (we just like to say that all the time because it is SO trendy right now), because it's on a street full of really good restaurants and coffee shops and grocery stores, right outside our door! We move in 2 weeks!!
Pictures to come soon :)

House Hunters
I love the show House Hunters on HGTV. I have been watching it for years, and it is one of my favorite shows on HGTV, so you can imagine how excited I was to see this in the newspaper on Friday....
Calling all Richmond home buyers -- here's your chance to be on national TV.
Home & Garden Television's hit series "House Hunters" will be filming in Richmond this season. Series producers are looking for home buyers and real estate agents to appear on the shows.
"House Hunters" follows buyers and their agents as they find the right house. The show is looking for buyers who are closing on a home within the next one to two months, including those who are actively bidding on a home or have a newly signed contract.
If you live within a 90-minute drive of downtown Richmond and "are fun, enthusiastic and have a great story to tell," in the words of the producers
So, because I'm loooking in Norfolk and it is exactly 90 minutes away from Richmond, I sent the casting director an email this afternoon. I should have told more about us and sent a "fun and ethusiastic" picture, but this is what I sent her...
Sara,
As a regular viewer of House Hunters, I could not have been more excited to hear that you are planning on filming episodes in Richmond this season! My boyfriend and I are from Texas, but we have both ended up in Virginia within the last year. I currently live in Richmond and Nick lives in Norfolk, where he is a Navy Pilot. Nick found out that he is going to be stationed in Norfolk for at least the next 3 years, so I am planning on moving to Norfolk, where we are currently looking at purchasing our first home!
Norfolk is 90 minutes away from Richmond (so it is JUST within the limit!!), and we are planning on making an offer on a house this week. We love the houses in Norfolk, they have so much charm and character. The houses we are typically looking at are early 1900's houses, and are often recently renovated, but of course there are a lot of houses that need improvement.
Nick and I would love to have the opportunity to share our home buying experience with the rest of the country and show the charm and history you find in Norfolk.
Please feel free to contact me, if you would like to talk further!!
Thank you Sara!
I have a good feeling about this! Nick and I watched House Hunters tonight so we could be prepared for our show! I hope she emails me back tomorrow!!!!!

Annapolis
My dad and I went up to Annapolis yesterday to meet up with Nick and his dad. I had never been to Annapolis, and heard I would love. It's true, I DID love it!!!
We walked around the Naval Academy and then in downtown Annapolis. It is so cute with little boutiques, restaurants, bars, shops, all on the water.

my mouth is watering...
I would like more than anything else right now, to have some tex mex. Particularly, sour cream enchiladas, rice and beans, followed by a waffled cone with peppermint ice cream from braums.

skin
today i went to nordstrom to get makeup and the woman i always have help me was telling me about Clarisonic. I had always seen these types of brushes before, and was always intrigued by them, but she was telling me about how it works wonders on her skin. it was developed by the same people who developed Sonicare. I'm addicted to my Sonicare, and i think that i NEED this. They have the cutest set, pink and gray and it says "mine" on the pink one and "yours" on the gray one. I hope Nick wants one!!!
